Lekker Kayaks is helping fund The Long Descent and providing the boats that will carry us from source to sea.
The expedition will put those kayaks through an unusually demanding real-world test: thousands of kilometres, months on the water, heavy loads and the enormous variety of conditions found along the Orange River.

CEKR Paddles is helping fund The Long Descent and providing the paddles we'll use throughout the journey.
Like the kayaks, the paddles won't simply be along for the photographs. Over thousands of kilometres they will be used day after day, across everything from shallow rocky water to long flat sections and bigger rapids — exactly the kind of real-world use they were designed for.
